I read Donald’s blog with much delight, in that he too, shared the same sentiments of whats right. He put back the laughter in me and made me see elephants in a brand new light. I guess our network is what baffles the BIG BOYS (or should that be GIRLS???) now. Within minutes of our visit, we have updates on our blogs, pictures in our gallery & our respective friends through our Facebook so if the chronological of events that were publicised doesn’t tell you the full picture, do get it here. Being a journalist & having understood how the system of information dissemination here works, I can tell you that whatever negative things you read about FFF, may not necessarily be bad at all. Sometimes, the press gets one side of the story, sometimes they get both but most times, they exercise discretion & make their own conclusions. Whatever they write, please remember that it has to go through several layers of censorship before it gets published. Just look at the furore they created in the Chinese dailies on Sunday…..I just love the way they write from their perspective. It gives us a better picture of what the Big Boys are & what they are capable of doing. This person is just a puppet & loudspeaker for the puppeteer who draws the strings above. Her true & noble fight for what she believes is right is truly commendable as she has a no-kill policy too but she’s just mislead & firing at the wrong squad.
For one, Sabrina is a one-woman-show at the farm where she has SINGLEHANDEDLY taken care of so many animals, which to me, is a HUGE FEAT. Why would her work ever be a point of contention from the employer she used to work with??? She has been minding her own business from the time she left S*CA but she was persecuted each time she made progress. Every time she does good (sometimes better), she would face all kinds of obstacles. Its amazing how some people cannot focus on self-improvement but can work to the detriment of others.
The 5-hour meeting with MPK, DVS, S*CA, S*S, Town Planners was just too long & I cannot afford to spend that kind of time anymore at meetings when I should be at the rescue. FFF will continue to do what we have set out to do. We have never interfered with other rescue teams as insinuated by certain quarters who’s been mislead by their counterpart, and we are not here to resist how they want to take over the rescue mission. MPK has been directed by S*S to rent the fish farm & allocate a duty roster to each team with preference given to S*CA. Isnt it ironic that the same person who alleged that we had rented the fish farm & hampered the efforts of other rescue teams, is the same person who’s dictating this upon us??? With all due respect, SP Wong of MPK who chaired the meeting said in all fairness, it all depends on the owner’s response, if he is willing to rent out his space to us otherwise, all parties would have to continue doing what they’ve been doing & find other resources to be there. Just because we have established ties before them, they had to use their power to dislodge us from our base when the owner refused them entry. I’m sure the owner can see what we have been doing. If he decides to change his mind for whatever reason, we will respect it but we will not stop our rescue. If we have gotten this far to get 20 dogs out to date, with your support, we will endeavour until everyone is saved.
Any other efforts to assist in any other matters on Pulau Ketam itself would have to wait as the rescue mission supercedes everything now.
Pam, I know what you must be feeling…
just don’t give up, Not Now! Not Yet! YOu know the more this BIG ORG tries their hands in hanky panky, the more they are going to loose supporters. At a time like this, the rescue mission and work is more important than anything…you are right!
Isn’t it so SICK when lives are dying at hell’s island and they are fighting over who gets what..who gets the power..who gets to control..who gets the priority..
I don’t see why priority should be given to an ORG who cannot forward us (the public who is concern and donated)the daily rescue reports of S*CA?? My God they have so many workers who draws salary from citizens donation, esp the lady who sits behind the desk who is pretty good with all her baseless assumtions,..? What about that really good PR person? They are not a one-man-show org., infact they are in most of the states,..
Does it takes so much time to just download some photos from the camera and write a few lines just to keep us concern public inform?
I hope they can also keep us inform (with photos) how those rescued dogs are progressing and who has adopted them rather than letting us know they had been humanely put to sleep. You don’t just go around resuing animals back to be put to sleep all because you think you are ending their suffering. It must be medically proven they are at terminal stage with no chances of living!
Bare in mind..these dogs are trying all they can even under fearful and painful circumstances to see another sunrise..why? Because life is so precious to every living being! No one even a mosquito wants to die…that’s why when you wave your hand at even a mozzy, they would fly away…..WHY? Because they are afraid to die!
These dogs are prepared to trust and love human again after what mankind had put them through…they deserve a 2nd chance to live, not to die! Look at those already at FFF, recovering and wagging their tails in appreciation each time Sabrina goes to check on them. Put any human in their situation, after going through such an ordeal, are we (human) willing to forgive???
oh just yet another thing…for those who had visited S*CA Ampang, should know what I am implying here…
They have these VIPs donating and I see quite a few of their names/co names being put up and tagged at the gate of certain kennels and those hot zink roof ones at the back with many dogs cramp into one has no patrons’ name…
I was just curious, does this mean the dog with the VIP sponsor will get to live longer than those without??? Does this lucky fella gets to stay in a bungalow (I mean 1 dog to 1 kennel) and the others had to cramp in squarter area???
Shouldn’t these donations be used fairly amoungst all? Shouldn’t all these animals saved get same treatment? Why when people donate from their heart need a plaque to show off their names?
Correct me when I am wrong as I had not been to that place for a long time since my cat incident and since I was black listed by them!!
F*CK!! The venom they are feeding to the Chinese dailies. And who are they to question the funds FFF receives? Sour grape trying to steal the limelight.
And yes, I have been to S*CA Ampang, those poor dogs are cramped in the little place. I am pretty sure they have steady flow of big donations that pours in but yet, they are still in that small place in Ampang, and claimed that there’s just too many animals there that has to be terminated!
TV Smith’s rescue update have put S*CA in hall of shame. Hell there is “a lot” of updates on their website!
Pummkin, I pity you guys have to endure to the 5hrs(!!) meeting that I believe is fruitless.

I do not know what is happening as I cant read chinese but I can feel that SPCA is doing something which is totally contradict in what they are doing.
I am totally shocked that they are behaving this way but once I went there before and I can say that the ppl who is manning the whole place does not looks like animal lovers at all. Looks grumpy which is totally not a good sign.

Yeah, s*ca only put their finger in when they see others getting the publicity. They are like kids who are jealous when they see others getting something which they don’t have. When will they grow up or should I say wake up to see that support for them is eroding. When will they be true to their mission? Just the other week, one of my students ask me if s.*.c.a. stands for special place for cruelty to animals. Tickled my toes just to think of it. We had a good laugh over it. Just have to go to the forums to see that only a few diehards are still blindly supporting them. I wonder what has blinded their eyes. Shit, I believe!
